This season the Fremont Symphony will hold its 42nd Young Artist Competition. Talented young musicians compete for cash awards, recognition and a chance to perform with the orchestra. The competitions alternate among pianists, string players and other orchestra instruments (brass, woodwind and percussion.

The 2008 competition for pianists will be held January 12 and 13. Finals on January 13 are open to the public. Applications must be received by December 14, 2007.
